The Round Rock School District covers more than 100 square miles of central Texas. If you look at a county map of Texas, RRISD covers the southern part of Williamson County and the northwest corner of Travis County. Obviously, this includes the city of Round Rock itself (as well as parts of Austin and Cedar Park).

Today, the Round Rock Independent School Districts (RRISD) is comprised of four high schools, eight middle, 27 elementary, and three alternative learning centers. Approximately 40,000 students attend these schools, and that number is growing steadily as more people move here from elsewhere in Texas and from out of state.
